trannies that come on the v-6 200

I am wondering, first of all, if there is more than one tranny that comes with the v-6 and if so how can you tell the difference, and secondly, if more than one, which is better or what cause I don't want to throw the tranny away that i took out if it worth anything, as far as I know, from what i could tell before, the tranny shifted proper, I mean it felt like it lagged a bit but i think that had to do more with the engine problem.
