Airbox Modification for Volvo 240 Turbo / Picture 200

Hi,
On my country is very hard to find the air filter, looking for a solution I follow the idea from the airbox mod adding a conic filter, in your experience this will work? thanks by any avice.

I mod the origial picture from tubrobricks.com adding the conic air filter.

Finally I found an OEM Air Filter, I will keep original the air intake.

hi there.
i did the elbo mod, but i dont think that filter will fit like you have it in the picture as there isnt much room.
im not sure if you got it mounted how it would function? there is one way to find out ;^>

If the fresh air intake is the only thing going into and out of the air box, you can get rid of the air box. go directly to the intake that used to attach to the airbox.
Use PVC as large as you can, ideally the same size as the air intake tube for the turbo. The cone filter is perfect for keeping bugs and dirt out, just make sure water will not splash on it while you are driving.

On 240 Turbos, the part of k-jet that measures incoming air is built into the airbox...unfortunately not as straightforward as the 700/900T series.

I don't know anything about the costs of international shipping, but have you looked into ordering filters from online sources the U.S? There are lot's of places to get them very inexpensively, and then you won't have to modify anything.
