1992 240 non turbo non egr vehicle with a suspect ECU unit

bosch # 0 280 000 561 with a WHITE label

today i picked up from my local salvage yard an ECU unit

out of 1989 240 DL with a

bosch # 0 280 000 561 with a PINK label

all the books and computer printouts i ahve found says these 2 ECU's are interchangeable.

does anyone know what if any difference there is between the white and pink label variety?

also is it wise to mix a pink label ECU with an ICU module that has a white label.

in my 92 240 both modules have white labels
in the 89 i took the ecu from both modules have pink labels.

Yes it will interchange, the pink labels have a bad reputation of not starting.

The white labels have a much better reputation, and better yet is the upgrade replacement for the #0 280 000 561 the #0 280 000 951.

They are interchangable but the pink label is known to fail. Dan
