I may be able to help, I have the climate control book. It is TP 8701201.
The following should help you check out the sensors.
Concerning the temperature sensor.
The function of the temperture sensor is to close a circuit at approx 18 C to start the blower motor. If the interior temperature is below this value and the engine temperature is less than approx 35 C the blower motor will not start. This is to ensure that cold air is not blown into the car.
ACC temperature sensor in control panel
Remove the trim panel areound the control panel. (four screws)
Checking the temperature sensor
Undo the temperature connector
The sensor should close circuit if the temperature exceeds 18 C. Use a voltmeter/ammeter to check this out. Check that the sensor opens at approx 18C by cooling (for example, in a refrigerator)
Removal of temperature sensor if it needs to be replaced
Remove /disconnect
Screw
single-pin connector
four-pin connector
leads (two) from temperature control
Installation
Solder leads to new temperture control
Reinstall/install
connectors
mounting screw
panels
ACC temperature switch on coolant hose checking and replacement
The function of the temperature sensor is to close a circuit to strat the blower when the coolant temperature appprox 35 C to ensure that cold air is not blwon into the car before the heater is hot.
It is important that the electrical lead be connected at all tiems since the blower will otherwise not start until the interior temperture is approx 18 C.
Disconnect leads and remove swithc from tee-piece
Installation
Install new temperture switch and reconnect lead.
Checking the temperature switch
Use voltmeter/ammeter
Temperture switch should connduct current only if temperature exceeds 35 C.
Switch should open at not less than 10 C when cooling.
ACC Interior air sensor
Remove panel under glove box and glove box (If replacing sensor: remove hose and undo connector.
Remove sensor and hose
Check that the sensor is passing current, If not replace senosor
ACC ambient air sensor
Remove panel under glove box and glove box
Look for sensor with two leads.
Remove connector from sensor, then mounting screws and finally sensor.
(note: care is required when removing connector from sensor due to special design of connector terminals
Check sensor
Use ohmmeter. Carry out measurement at room temperature (20-23 C). Iginition should be switched off.
Measure resistance across sensor. Value should be 30 -40 ohms. Replace sensor if resistance is significantly higher (65-100 ohms).
Reinstall in reverse order.
There are illustrations with these instructions but the text should be sufficent for you to check out what sensors are working correctly.
Let the board know how you came out.
