I'm with the others; I think you should be fine.
Alternator alignment often goes crooked.
If the existing belt goes across the pulleys at an angle, then the alt. is crooked. Maybe that's why one broke?
Alternator is mounted on two rubber bushings.
When they get worn, alternator does not stay parallel to engine axis.
Now is the time to replace the bushings unless they are very young.
They are on the main mount bolt, at bottom of alternator.
The bushings cost about $1 each at fcpgroton; I'm sure other places have them too.
Replacing them later pretty much requires removal and replacement of the alternator; a relative PITA considering it's just two bushings.
The alternator belt tension adjustment bracket is also mounted on one of those bushings but I've heard of those breaking when you try to get at the bushing. So be cautious if you want to replace that one too. All three bushings are the same part #.
