Mystery plug? What does it go to? 700 1992

While replacing the rear washer pump on my wagon, i noticed that in the wrapped line going to both the electrical connections there are 3 plugs. 2 of them go to the washer motor pumps but the third one is not hooked up to anything. The plug looks the same as the other 2. What does it go to? Thanks

I'd be skeptical a fuel system test point would be wrapped in a washer fluid harness. What happens when you wash your headlights? Oh, you do it with a sponge?

What are the wire colors that feed into the mystery plug? -and which fuel injection system do you have? (LH-2.4, LH-3.1, or Regina)

There are several un-used plugs on the fuel injection wiring harness in the engine bay, and most of them are used for diagnostic work at the dealership. Some of them can be used by the home mechanics, for such tasks as setting a monitoring the Oxygen Sensor swing rate. If the wiring harness that you're looking at is a body/chassie harness, then it may be for some option that your car wasn't equipped with (due to buyer selection or US/foreign market variation).

I've got a Volvo Green wiring diagrams manual for the 1990 model year so the information should be mostly the same if not identical.

    God bless,
    Fitz Fitzgerald.
