Waterpump 900 1993

The waterpump looks like it sprung a leak at the top (top left looking towards the motor) where there appears to be a rubbger seal of some sort. Would changing the water pump with associated gasket fix the problem? Is this a simple fix, it happened at work. The check engine light came on, can I disconnect the battery for a while and reset it? Thanks. - John

    There is a donut gasket in that location that can be problematic. If you trust the pump and do not want to change it you can simply purchase a gasket set and reinstall the same pump. However if it has been a good soldier for a number of years you probably will be more comfortable changing the pump as well. Personally I like HEPU pumps.
