B21 FT rebuild question about oil pump 200 1981

I am rebuilding my b21 ft engine out of my 81 240. Now should i replace the oil pump in it or would you suggest to replace the spring, gears and seals which I have already done.
please let me know what you think would be a good idea.
cost wise replacing the whole pump is not a good idea, but could that come back to bite me in the ass?????

thanks alot

You should be fine with what you've already done. I'd personally spend more time ensuring that the transfer tube fits snug and is well sealed. Those o-rings are more likely to cause loss of oil pressure than the pump itself, it seems from others' experience.

I bought a new pump for my rebuild because I got a block w/o a pump. The ScanTech branded pump sold by FCP Groton was a Melling M181 high volume pump. I knew this when I ordered it, otherwise I probably wouldn't have gone with something under the ScanTech name. It was $95...a LOT cheaper than a pump from the dealer. And it's been recommended in the past, so I felt OK using it:

If the housing, bearing, and shaft wear is within the factory specs, you are good to go as is with the parts you have replaced. What you have done is pretty much what the rebuilders do except they measure the housing and wear surfaces.
