Loose Bolt? 200 1993

Hello All!

Does anyone know what this 12mm bolt is for and why it looks to be cock-eyed and coming loose? I can't turn it with my hand.
It sits slightly below the power steering fluid reservoir.

Thanks.

Yeah, it definietly looks like it goes through the accessory bracket.

    Jorell called it.

You can do the bushings yourself but you need a decent tool kit, especially to mess with the a/c compressor where it attaches to the bracket.

It can be done with a limited tools kit, but it WILL BE a PITA.

To change the bushings on the p/s pump -easy.
    Alternator -a little more troublesome.
A/c bushings are a pain -but not to the point of tears.

    Good time for new belts.

Be careful with the adjusting bolts (long 10mm bolts) they can break and bend.

A good set of ratcheting wrenches will work wonders here.

Wobble extensions & sockets (or something else) to get at the a/c compressor.

Looks like your accessory bushings are wearing/worn out. Check the pullys on the AC compressor and the PS pump, do they line up perfectly with the crank pully or are they off-angle/cock eyed. If they do not line up, its time for new accessory bushings.
