1989 780 prepump 700

I have a 1989 volvo 780 and the prepump is really noisy when the gas tank is low and it stumbles. How dangerous is it to take out the prepump unit and what precautions have to be taken...thanks...Jeffrey

Having done it, it's no different to do from other 700 sedans except:
The tank is different so the assembly that the pump motor mounts into is different; and take care not to bust the plastic pieces when you pull the trunk mat.
