Engine 'surges' a bit at stops 200 1993

'93 245 w/ 190k miles:
After the engine is warm, when I stop at traffic lights, etc., the engine sort of "surges" up and down. Any ideas?

    I have to agree, I think you have a dirty throttle body.

    It may also need an adjustment of the linkage from throttle pulley to the throttle plate. It may be too tight and needs to be lengthened a little.

    Either way I think your throttle switch is not making contact as it closes, at least not at first as you take your foot off the gas.

    First, I would clean the throttle body and see if it clears up:
