real quick starte question... 1800

A friend has a '63 P1800 and needs a starter... Am I correct that any starter from a B18/B20/B21/B23...etc. car will work for him? Just leave that extra spade clip disconnected?

Thanks,

The latest ones 1800

are the smallest and lightest... Aka, the best. Gear reduction! :) Not sure when exactly they started, but they were defintely only on b230s(maybe b234s too).

Right you are. They are all alike except that the newer ones without
the angled terminal bolts are sturdier.

Matt;

...all starters are interchangable, even the permanent magnet type...although you would have to drill out a threaded mounting hole on those...

Cheers

All B230 starters have threaded mounting holes.

Yep, I just put one on my B-18 from a 740, works great! and yes, it had threads.

Cheers
