Hello,

I was just wondering whether anyone here has any idea where or how I could find a Volvo 8-Track Player. To date I have searched through Volvo World, Google, my Mechanic's parts cars and Ebay while only being able to find the picture of a deck that came from a 140 (below) as well as an 8-Track Cartridge that would have come with the car about 30 years ago when it was brand new. I have also seen some people selling early 80's 240 Station wagons with Stereo 8 Decks but I can't seem to find a parts retailer that has any. Would anyone here have any suggestions for where I could find a deck either new or used?

Can you fix one, or are you willing to find someone who can?

I have one on the shelf, but when I bench-tested it, I could only get sound from one channel.

I would give it to you, if you pay shipping, and it's purty heavy.

I have never encountered a light 8-Track player, so this is perfectly normal ;) I'm quite interested in this but I just need to find someone that can fix it since my only experience in electronics repair at the moment can be summarized on a Post-it note. I know a good place near Québec city that should be able to take care of it and I'm also about to start studying electric circuits which should help too.

Would it be possible to recieve pictures of it beforehand?

How easy/difficult would it be to repair? (ex: just a bad contact or a bad part?) and would most car radio retailers be able to take care of it?

That would be great! When looking at my Mechanic's parts cars (going all the way back to a 1973 142DL) I only spotted AM/FM radios and AM/FM Cassette players, is there anyway you could Bench test the 8-Track deck(s) before hand and notify me of the models you spotted them/it in (ex. 140,160,240)? Also, could you check if there are any Quadraphonic decks (4 speaker output) and not only Stereo (2 speaker output)?
