Converting a B230 with a carburettor to a B230F with Regina FI

I know this sounds weird but here it goes. I have a complete set of a Regina FI plus the ignition system, intake manifold, and all the sensors, fuel pump and also the engine wiring plus the dash wiring.

It was taken from a 1991 Volvo 740 here in the US. I was parting out my car for some reasons. Then later on I decided that I wanted to buy a Volvo here in Malaysia, with either a B230 auto with a carburettor(or a Kjet) and convert it to a Regina FI system.(I brought all the components to Malaysia)

My problem now is that I do not have the Regina/renix flywheel with me. I know that most of the Malaysian Volvos are equipped with Bosch EZK ignition systems,so the flywheel is different than Renix.

My question is, is the Renix flywheel(automatic) used in maybe B200K/B230K same as the Regina(USA)auto? On top of that, Volvos with automatic trans. comes in either BW55(b4 1985) or AW70/71(1985 or later uses this). Can I fit a Regina B230F on a B23 with a BW55 auto trans? Will the Renix auto flywheel fit?

The reason that I am doing this is I do not have to spend that much money by buying a whole set of B230F(engine and trans, which can be expensive in Malaysia).

Thank you very much for your time.

Converting a B230 with a carburettor to a B230F with Regina FI

I am on very thin ice now, but I believe that the flywheel on the '91 740 may have been a 60-2 flywheel, and that the B230K flywheel is 44-2-2.

Now that I'm guessing anyway ... provided that the parts will fit together mechanically, I think that you may get around the trigger issues by installing an external trigger wheel with the correct design for your ignition. Something like this:

Erling,

Thank you for the reply. I greatly appreciate it.

The car that I took all the Regina FI parts was a Volvo 740 with the ReginaFI and Renix ignition. It has the square shaped coil.

Even the Volvo greenbook manual says that all Renix/Regina systems come with the 44/2 flywheel.

Will this flywheel fit in a BW55/AW55 with a b23 engine? I plan to change the b23 head to a b230f head.
