IPD's Floor Trays 200

Anyone tried IPD's plastic floor trays? I'm thinking if they are as good as the original Volvo trays I'll go ahead and spend $60 on the set instead of finding a 20 year old set in a junkyard - maybe - for about half that (Yes, many of the yards around here are that expensive). And eBay, well, after shipping, a set of originals would probably be $50+ at the minimum.

    Screwed by Nationwide also... 200

    Sean:

    Thanks for your reply.

When my wife and I were newlyweds she sold carpet, wall paper, blinds etc. and had to make house calls on occasion. One night she was at a prospects home and the husband came in and said he was having trouble getting out of the driveway and asked my wife to move her car. My wife moved her car and thought nothing of it. She got home before me that evening and was inside our house when I got home.

When I got out of my car my eyes almost popped out of my head, as the drivers side passenger's door was crushed in. We both had 244's at the time and hers was that dark green that almost looks black at night. She had no idea the car was damaged and had no idea where it happened. I said "Looks like someone in a white car hit you as there is white paint on the car." >>>Then she remembered the old fart at the prospects house. We went back to the house that night and his car was in the driveway, with !!miraculously!! green paint on his white rubber bumper!!! The couple denied responsibility even when we pointed out the obvious...

They got offended and gave us the phone number to their Nationwide agent. He was an old fart insurance dog that even when we pointed out the obvious to him, he refused to pay for the damage and actually said to go and file a lawsuit.

    What an ass!

Of course we didn't sue (should have) and I spent two years looking in junk yards for green Volvo 240's so I could just switch out the doors. Found two, and guess what, that was the only door that was missing! A body shop wanted $750.00 to "Re-skin" and paint the door. My deductible was $500.00 and I didn't want MY insurance rates to go up.

I hate Nationwide insurance to this day, 14 years later. No, Nationwide is not on my side, they are a greedy, dishonest, crooked insurance company. Oh, that must be pretty obvious. Some things never change.

Thanks for the therapy session doc!

    If it needs to be maintained, repaired or replaced on a 1990 240, I've probably done it. '90 240DL, 245K looking forward to 300K badge. >>You haven't really worked on a car until you draw blood<< :-}

I have a set in my 940 wagon. They are not as heavy as the Volvo ones but the ones in front of the seats fit and work fine. The large floor mat in the cargo area fits well but, because it is thin, tends to distort near the back end of the floor. It still does what it is supposed to de, catch debris from the loads and protect the carpet. My vote is for fine in front of the seats and adequate at the rear.

Didn't you get hit by a Firebird awhile back?

    How did that turn out?

The police would not give me the time of day since I was 1/4 mile from the scene when I called, and because there was no police report, the guy denied everything and his insurance didn't pay a dime.

Not only that, but he destroyed my favorite mug and cell phone since I smashed them on the floor the second I got off the phone with Nationwide.

Thanks for asking, John. Damage is barely noticable, thankfully.

I'll speak from full 740 experience, and half 240 experience

Whatever they are, the mats IPD has for the 740 are pretty good for for the money (~$40 for the two front mats). Best fit I've seen in an aftermarket mat, but not perfect. Definitely not as good as the genuine ones I had in my old 740 (~$120 for all four).

I scored a brandy new set of genuine floor trays for my 240 on ebay a few years ago (all four for $40!). Much heavier and nicer than the IPD mats that we have in the 740.

Hope my apples and oranges comparison had some utility... :-)

I got some on sale this summer really cheap ($14 from IPD). They're cool (read: OK), but if your soles are wet and they slip on the plastic tray it sounds like fingernails on a chalk board.

      Hey Mike,
Um...I probably don't have anything groovy to trade...actually, I take that back, I just might. Let me think about it and I'll e-mail you.

My interior is tan, but I could live with black floor trays.
