Finding a radiator replacement 140-160 1974

So, my radiator on my '74 144 recently bit it, and I'm having a heck of a time finding another one. The Midwest is a horrible place to try to find +30 year old Volvo parts. Therefore, I have 2 questions:

1. Does anyone have a 140 radiator lying around? (I posted a classified ad, but I don't think those get much attention)

2. Would an early year, all metal 240 radiator fit? I have an offer for one, but I've never looked at one, so I don't know.

If anyone has any insight, that would be great.

Thanks,
Ian

Well, after finding that a Volvo replacement wil be $412, I decided to go with a local place that will recore the original for $205. Doesn't sound like too bad of a deal to me.

Well, I think it turned out pretty well. It's not a perfect job, but it still looks pretty nice. And hey, it runs!

Thanks for the offer, but I'm in Detroit, and my Maxima just quit on me. SO, I'll probabaly just get it recored here. I have made a billion trips to Rochester in the past though. Family is there.

I think having it recored is your best bet. Alternatively, call Joe Lazenby at Susquehanna Spares (717) 921-2644, (717) 249-0565. You could also try A.C.Wheeler at (207) 524-5591, but I think your chances are better with Joe.

I have had a couple re-core by the local radiator shop over the years. He re-cored them with a thicker 3 row core.

I think it is time to get out your tape measure and see what you've got.
Auto Tranny cooler aside, if it will fit, it will work.

I'm thinking that's how it's going to end up, but I was hoping for something original if I could find it. Yeah, it's a manual trans., so the cooler isn't really necessary.

        You could get it re-cored.

"Eric Olsen had some of those on on E-bay"

Might that be Eric Olson, once (or still?) from Shingle Springs, CA?

I worked with someone by that name many years ago here in NY, and sold him my MG TC.
