welcome me to the 900 board 900

hi all
i picked me up a black 92 940 GL today. although my daughter has a 94 940 this is my first 900 series.
i will probably be needing some of your experience in the near future as its a bit of a fixer upper, but not bad.
well worth the thirteen hunderd i paid.
a overdrive relay quickly cured the high revving problem.
luckily i saved some 940 parts i found at the mans mall. the rear decor panel, ipd sways, center pullout armrest, and rear spoiler.
im off to the FAQ
take care
mike

      hi there
did you swap the rims from the 745?
what exactly type of wheels do you have there, borbet?
well my son is taking the 92 944gl so my search continues.
its a good thing because he was talking about a caprice or a cadi or something along those lines.
      i'll be back im sure.
      take care
      mike

yes i swapped the wheels. the fronts are original volvo polaris wheels very hard to find and expensive. if you look closely, you can see that the rear wheels are a little lighter in color the fronts.
i have seen them on ebay in germany but some people wont ship to US. the rear wheels are the replicas called Eikers and can bought from IPD @ 250.00 per wheel. originals are 17x7 the replicas are 17x 7.5.

i will be getting a pair maybe this spring to match the rears nnd sell the originals i ahve the other two one is cracked and i was told it cannot e repaired the other wheel is bent and can be straightened.

Wheels can be repaired but it takes somebody that knows what they are doing. Gas aided welding on aluminum wheels can be done.
I hit a 4x4 once that fell off a flatbed truck while driving 80mph in my than new but now long gone '82 242GT. Almost missed it and caught it on the outer rim edge instant flat and dented and cracked wheel.
Found a welder that welded it on the inside, rebalanced the wheel a little bit of varnish and a new Pirelli tire and it was good for another 100K.

          hello
i like the eikers, i did not realize they were eikers.
there is a pic of a 944 in the gallery around page four of 900 series with eikers, they just look a little different.
          good luck

Congratuations! Welcome to the 900 board! I hope you like your 940 as much as I like mine... it's a fine car, as nice as the 240s we love so much. A bit more refinement on the suspension and interior, and the blower motor is in a more convenient place.... Otherwise a 240 in disguise. Best of luck to you, and I look forward to your questions and contributions here as I have enjoyed your contibutions to the 200 forum.

Ugh, I'm jealous. Is it an auto? What color interior? Which constellation of wheels does it (she) sport? Pics? pics? Pics?!
