Noisy new waterpump from agroton 200 1989

Recently replaced waterpump, timing belt, seals, and tensioner, all from FCP Groton. The water pump has started to make those complaining noises that precedes their required replacement. Did not overtighten belts and used the longlife prestine green coolant. Is there any waterpump lubricants out there that I should be using or is this just another signiture noise from a 240 volvo?

Shouldn't be making any noise. Really no point in blaming the distributor when they give you at least three pumps to choose from (Hepu, GMB, Volvo).

Aftermarket parts can be a gamble. Many have had great results with Hepu, some have had very not-so-great results. If the pump's a howling, you'll probably have to replace it.

Was not my intention to harp Had good experiences with Groton. I would like to know what is the most reliable waterpump. This is the 2nd one I have replaced within the last 25,000 miles.

personally, my experience with Hepu is awesome.

that's not to say a bad one doesn't slip through the inspection line -or whatever.

i would call FCP Groton & complain. see next sentence.

like i told you, be sure the issue is what it is.

if you are ABSOLUTELY certain, they refund your $$$.

your forgot to mention what brand pump?

i'll tell you that any noise from a new pump seems odd to me.

could it be something else? LOL! did you beat on the snout?

do you have a long a$$ screw drive or length of hose to use as a stythescope to place on the pump to be sure.

leave anything behind the cam belt cover?

cam belt cover rubbing on h20 pump pully -did that myself once?

Thanks for the reply, The waterpump brand is Hepu. Didn't have any tubing to isolate the exact location, but it sounds like its coming from either the waterpump or alternator. The noise does ebate after it warms up and the timing belt cover is not rubbing
