Cherry May live 140-160

Well, thanks to Gary I now know what is wrong with Cherry. However, I still do not have the ability to fix her. He says he's almost positive it's a rod bearing but that I'd have to pull the engine to fix it. I'm not knowledgeable enough nor do I have the equipment to do so. So if any of you in the Ok area get bored and just feel the need to go nuts and take apart an engine let me know. :)If not I suppose she'll just have to sit a while longer. Thanks for all your support.

It is possible to change the rod bearings without taking the engine out. If you lift the engine from the engine mounts, you can do the change from below. I've done it once, but unfortunately can't help you since I'm in Sweden...

    Gary/Sara,

Here's an alternative to Pull-A-Part in case you guys are looking for pushrod Volvo parts. Much better chance of scoring the parts that you are looking for here than PAP.

The seller is located in Edmond, and all his details are on the page.

Thanks for the tip, but I'm less than impressed with the individual, after exactly one attempt to deal with him. A year or two back, I called and asked if he had a used B18/B20 oil pan he would sell. He said he did, and he would take $80 for it.

I haven't called back. He does have a small salvage yard that is mostly Volvo stuff, allegedly including some 140's. But I just pretend it's not there.

      Gary L
