arest installation 900 1994

Hello

Happy Christmas,Quanzaa,Hanukah etc

I need to install my armrest with cupholders. the armrest does have the metal attachment but how does it attach?

now i have the smaller armrest so i just unscrewed it but the bracket seems to be bolted from the inside under the felt.

thanks for the responses and instructions.

On my '93 940, the holes in the new armrest matched those in the old hinge. I just took out the two screws in the old arm rest and used them to install the new one, reusing the old hinge.

All the ones I have installed use the old metal hinge/brakets; simply remove the two fastners that hold it to the bottom of the armrest/cupholder. Perhaps yours is different?

Love to know what you guys are talking about as that is the only thing I don't like about my 93 944T, not having a cup holder.
but I have no arm-rests either. I have a center console with lid that can hold some junk and with the lid closed is an armrest.
Can somebody show me a picture of these arm-rests with cup holders for the mid 90's 940 series?

I found an armrest in a 740 at a pick-and-pull. Didn't cost much. I did have to paint it to match my interior.

After getting the arm rest, I bought two cup holders which are fastened to the door panel and which fold flat when not in use. We prefer these cup holders to the ones in the arm rest. Now we have 4 holders for the front and 2 for the back. The folding cup holders are available on Ebay and you can match close to whatever interior color you have. I just bought a pair for my MB.

I don't have an image to post of the most common center armrest drink holder in the 700/900 cars but I will try to get a picture of the one in our 745 and post it for you.

They have a slide out panel with dropdowns that support the bottom of the drink. They have a panel that slides out the front and holds two drinks and another that slides out the back for two addtional drinks. I don't know that I would trust it to hold four drinks but it does just fine with two.

You occasionally see them on eBay and I have seen them bring over $100 at times. You might try a search on eBay.

        Randy
