If I go through a large puddle- sometimes my car sounds like the exhaust is gone- then it comes back to normal in less than a minute. What is going on?

    Check to see if the pre-heat tube that runs from the exhaust manifold to the air filter assembly is close to the belts or anything else... sounds like hell... in our case, it sounded so bad, I thought the exhaust valves were trying to go through the cat converter.

    Make sure you are running a belly pan as well.
