hesitation help

Hi

I am hundred of miles from home with a 93 240 that i've had for a week on the last leg of the drive the kickdown cable stuck and the engine would hesitate of idle acceleration. the kickdown was fixed but the hesitation is still there. once the engine gets up to speed it has power and no miss but if you take off from a light
nothing until it kind of catches up with itself

where should i start looking oh wise ones

thanks
ken

Make sure the throttle switch behind the throttle body is adjusted. I had a 240 with hesitation and finally curing it by replacing the air mass meter, and hesitation stopped. good luck

update

after letting the engine cool, not that it was running hot, it seems to be running fine no hesitation, go figure
the fuel pump is a screamer but seems to be functioning.
I am thinking the IAC was stuck open and is now functioning
in the morning it's off to auto barn for some solvents and lube.

I failed to mention up until Thursday this car had not run or moved for two years and had extensive idle repair problems including AMM replacement, which didn't cure it.

Thanks, I'll keep you posted.
