The decorative black tape that surrounds the rear side windows of the 240 wagon has become cracked and separated. The rubber gasket is also deteriorated. Other than the dealership, is there a recommended source for these OEM Volvo body parts. Would anyone on this forum know the part # for these? Thanks very much.

Hit the 2006 color brochure .pdf to see the tapes. Products 730 - 775 are the ones to look at...they come in 50ft rolls,

That very question is the reason why I am switching my fleet out to Porsche 911s.

I have not been able to find anyone that carry those parts, too. I was first interisted in parts for my 242. The dealership couldn't even get door trim parts. However there are many comanies that cary every pannel, gasket, seal and trip piece for any year Porsche. http://www.performanceproducts.com/ is my favorite.

Brings a tear to your eye I know. Even test driving the new Volvo flag ship, the S60R just dosen't pull like the old 242. Not to mention THEY PUT THE MOTOR IN SIDEWAYS!!!!

As much as I love my F150; Volvo died when Ford bought them and start putting the motors in wrong.

Take a pre-90 Porsche 911 for a ride and you will understand what I am talking about. (remember your high school german "Porsch uh" do not forget the uh at the end!)

3M makes black trim tape in exactly that size.
It can be found at shops that sell auto body materials/paint. After I painted my 245 a few years back, I painted the black stripes with Duplicolor Bumper and Trim paint (black). It dries to a nice matte finish, a few light coats filled in the tiny cracks that had developed and it has lasted for the past few years. Just make sure there is no wax/protectorant on the surface. Otherwise, my stripes look like new. Just depends on what shape yours are to begin with.
