Try the 140 forum also. The guys who hang out there, including Rhys, seem to know their carb stuff. (I'm just a visitor.)

    HI!
W`hat the broblem, whith BIERBURG 2BE ? I presume, that engine is B-23A ? Overseas model , whith EGR. Same, as we have here? Or If I say, that they must SELL it in OVERSEAS, in CALIFORNIA norms fit on. That`s why allmost all cars MUST have STROMBER`s, which DON“Tt work a most of 70 `s Cars. Remember JAG XKE! 12- Cyl Especicially. So Unforgive me, I just lost the question.

I am not familiar with the Canadian models, but in Scandinavia the A engines (B21A, B23A, B230A) got three different sidedraught carbs:

The B230K in the 240 cars had a different intake, to fit the Solex Cisac 34/34 twin-barrel downdraught carb.

    Regards,
    Erling.

Canadian DL cars got the B21A engine, which used an SU carb from 77 to 80, and Stromberg from 80-81 to 84. No B230's had carbs here, although in other countries I believe they did.
SU set-ups, and their specific manifolds, are the best bet for a conversion.
I have a modified 1982 B23E with a single SU on it, and it goes like gangbusters.

Thanks for the info. I am trying to get rid of the fuel injection so i can keep my 1961 p210 duett running for 20 more years. i believe that the intake gaskets are the same for b21 and b2300 so i should be looking for a S.U. manifold and carb set up.

        HI!

Intake gaskets are different in A, (Carb-engines). There is a water-hole open in the cyl. head next to thermostat place. Cooling water runs in the carb-modells intake manifold. Of course, You can leave it out of the order, it is not necessary especially in the warm weather states. My own 240 whith B-250 engine installed twin WEBER DCOE`s dont need it and works well around year.( manifold has not water canals)

So you are putting a B230 into the Duett? With the single carb it will be quite a performer!
I can help with the carb itself, if not the manifold. You will also have to find a breaker point distributor from the B21A engine. An electronic distributor will also work from the B21F if that's the way you want to go. The B230 had the Bosch LH Jetronic system which runs both ignition and fuel. I have both of the older distributors in stock.

Yes I am putting an engine and manual trans out of a 1989 245 with 103 k on the odo, I plan on trying the munz radio trick of cuttig out injection components entill it will not run any more. then back up to get it running again. I do have earlyer style distributors in stock if that becomes a problem, thanks for the heads up.
