Timing and dwell. 120-130

On a rebuilt '69 B20 high compression engine with and Isky SP cam, what should the dwell and timing be?
The timing “seems” alright at 20 BTDC and the dwell reads a few degrees below 60. I burn high octane gas.
Closer points = higher dwell?
Thanks.

Sounds great to me. 60° is the target dwell. Smaller point gap = more dwell.

You've it about right on. If you aren't having any detonation(and be 100% sure that you're not), I think you're right where you want to be. Any more and you're advancing it too much, if you aren't already. 60's usually the dwell number I hear people shooting for, so I wouldn't bother messing with that any either. I can't remember if tighter means higher or lower dwell or not...

At this point, your best bet would be to get it on a dyno and fine tune the mixture, then play with timing a bit to see if you can improve power where you want to, and then maybe back to mixture and timing once again. Then you'll have the best possible setup without going to different components.

You have the mikunis, no? I'd be interested in seeing your car on a dyno regardless!!! Go find one! Dial in your setup, and let us know how you do.
