960 PURCHASE 900 1997

Good day all, located a 1997 960 wagon with 138k miles. The exterior is very nice with sunroof. The leather interior is good to fair. Not a fan of leather interior, I can deal with. Has some minor issues, driver's door opener, stained carpet, a few rips in the headliner, nothing hanging down, the service light came on when car started, then went off. There is a slight vibration when accelarting. The engine compartment is like new, 2.9L L6 FI 24V engine. The car has a clean Carfax report, 2 owners, a fleet car and a private owner, Florida car sold at auction. No service records with the car. The dealer offered $4000 for the 960, $1000 for my 940 with 300k miles. Is this a good buy?

    960 PURCHASE 900 1997

    ONLY IF:
    1. request to have the timing belt and rollers replaced (the rollers cost 300.00)
    2. fix the stumbling problem, sounds like the plug wires (known problem with 960)
    3. Check and make sure the seat heaters and auto seat positioning system works, these are high dollar items and you dont want the headache. Good luck!!
