Lower Strut bushing - torx??? 700 1989

I had just replace the strut rod ( lower bushings at bottom of ball joint) on the 1986 740. Pretty easy job. I used the IPD parts, seems to have fixed the problem - bad vibration under braking.

So now my 1986 780 is making a few odd noises in the front. I looked at the strut rod bushings and the head is a large torx ( male) on the chassis side bolt.

What size is this? Wonder why Volvo changed?

Thanks for any information on this small question.

Just clamp on with a set of vice grips or use a 14mm 12 point socket. I cannot tell you the countless sets of those I did with a 14mm socket before I ever spent the money on the external torx socket set.

Good idea. What size torx is it?
