weber conversion throttle linkage questions 120-130

Okay so now i got a weber DGV and a cannon manifold but IPD stopped selling thier linkage kits, so it looks like i may have to piece together my own linkage. I found a place called Pierce manifolds that looks like it could sell me all of the assorted parts, but instead of taking off my SUs and bolting this thing on just to measure up everything so as to get the right linkage parts, i was hoping that because so many of you have already done this i might get a list of the exact parts and sizes i would need.
Also this DGV has the trottle functioning in the opposite way that the one (a DGEV) on my other volvo (with a homemade manifold made out of a VW exhuast- don't ask) so that the acceleration movement is toward the engine as opposed to away from the engine. I can only guess that they made right and left handed webers and i got the other one. Is this going to be a problem?

Pierce Manifolds sells Weber conversions for all sorts of applications, and will almost certainly know what you need.

The 32/36 progressive Webers do come in left and right hand versions. The usual type for Volvo is DGV or DGEV, with the linkage pulling in towards the engine to open the throttles. The usual VW type is the DFV or DFEV, which goes the other way (which is horrible to deal with because the adjustments are all on the side jammed against the fan shroud).

Send me a message offline if you would.
Another Brickboard member and I towed a parts car out of Philly
this past weekend it had a Weber on it and he has two other
cars with Webers. I can't promise anything but I will
give you his email offline and you can see if he is willing
to sell one of the linkages.

Well, I'm in a snotty mood becasue I've had it with my DGAV so you can just have what I can salvage from my linkage as soon as I get it off & get the replacement sidedrafts working.

Lord knows I'm never going back to the DGAV. hint, hint...

Also Datsun 510s and BMW 2002 use the "left-hand" DGV; and I noticed that there are some very intersting geared linkages available that make better use of the progressive design as they are asymmetrical.

could you please explain a little about what you meant by these asymetrical linkages, are these for the left handed DGV, or the right handed? I have a right handed DGEV on my '64 (with the Fed up manifold) and i hate the stupid thing, cold weather is a nightmare, freezing up the manifold because there isn't any preheater port and it stick out like an extra 6 inches. And to get the electric choke to work propperly is out of the question it seems for me.
But i had a chance to get this weber and cannon deal without shipping charges and the set of SUs on my '63 are pretty wobbly and in need of a refab, so i said what the hey, i'll see what it's like for a while.

Thanx for the reply and if you want to contact me about the linkage email me at rob.is.rob@hotmail.com

          Hey rogglio,

probably won't be swapping carbs out 'till next week since I'm left without a runner for now; but I'll send word.

As for the geared linkage, I saw this on my Datsun guru's car; even 40DCOEs were overkill on his hopped-up 1.6L, so he retrograded to DGV. to overcome the on-off feel when going between circuits, he's got a gear mesh linkage that is long at low input, and short at high input of the pedal. So try to picture the tapered side of an asymmetrical clam shell. This is a 'left-hand' application. Now the on-off feel is just the cam at 4k rpms.

So dig up some Datsun sites; could be that this is a vintage Japanese thing, he really goes all out on decking his cars like period & geographically correct hot-rods. That being said, it's not hard to make if you have access, aluminum & some imagination...
