Service Engine Light Reset for a 1998 S90 S90-V90 1998

Hello,

Does anyone know the right procedure to reset the service engine light? What position do we need to be in before we push the reset button? I have done this before but have forgotten. And from what I read and tried it's more than pushing the rubber reset button with a paper clip.

Thanks.

Remove the rubber plug on the instrument panel, stick a strong blunt toothpick or similar object straight into the hole and push towards the front of the car, you will feel it mechanically reset, then reinstall the rubber plug.

Thanks for the response. It does not work though. What key position do I need to be in?

It doesn't matter which key position. It's a mechanical reset, it has nothing to do with the key.

Are you sure you don't have a check engine light instead of the service light that goes out after 2 min of driving time? If it's the check engine light your going to have to have the codes read and then have the problem solved before the light can be turned off.
