How to stop Oil Sender leak temporarily 200

My Oil Sender Sensor was leaking oil, not from around it, but from INSIDE it. So, I screwed in a brass screw in the hole, sealed it with JB Weld and now we have NO LEAKS.

I'm going to order a new sensor and wire, but I was leaking oil like a bleeding soldier in a M*A*S*H episode.

Finally, after driving 20 minutes - bone dry.

Kind of makes you want to sing, "do a little dance, make a little love, get down tonight! Get down tonight!"

(or maybe not...)

Sounds like a good fix. Good enough anyway.

You'll be pleasantly surprised, I think, when you buy the new sender at the dealer, how cheap this part is, even from the official Part$ people... and no other pressure switch in the world has the right bullet connector on it.

I use Permatex teflon paste, which is sold by Napa. Works great to seal pipe threads like the oil pressure sender. It's not very expensive for a small tub, maybe $5-7. Typically fittings that hold oil are pipe threads on the car...on the engine, trans, and rear end.

    Hi Jamie,

Nice job. That ought to hold it while you wait for the replacement.

Thanks, Art. You know, they make JB Weld just 20 minutes west of my casa, in Sulphur Springs, TX.

      Interesting.

      Ah JB Weld,

Metal filings and epoxy that can solve almost any leak if you give it time to set up.

JB Weld to seal it up

PB Blaster to get it loose,

and if it all fails... Wait for it.... Duct Tape to cover it up.
