My Newest Addition! 200

My name is Karl and I am a Volvoholic!

LOL

Here is my latest addition to the Volvo herd.
She is a 1977 Red(?) Volvo 245.
I put the question mark because the PO called
the color "cinnamon brown"

I have a 1978 sedan the same color so this
was an even better addition in my case.

Question:

Is this the correct headlight configuration for this
year and make? All the pictures I have seen don't have
the foglights mounted in the grill. Although I have seen
pictures of sedans like this.

Cheers all!

Karl

I like that GT grille too. But IMO it would look better painted black. That's what I did on my '80 gle V8 (see profile pic). Rustoleum rattle can satin black looks nice.

Hmmmmm.....That does look very nice!

I am always torn when it comes to changing
something that is in pretty good condition.
This one i will have to think about but you
are very right, that does look very nice in
black.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Cheers,

karl

Okay it's a Gt grill, right! 200

I didn't think the wagons came with
the GT grill but I wasn't sure if it was
original to this car or if the PO had put
it on.

I am actually the third owner and the last owner
seemed to think it original, so it must have been on
the car for quite some time.

I know that the larger single headlights were stock
in 1977 but I wasn't sure about the fogs.

Here is a picture of the 1978 sedan that
I have owned for a few years now. It does have
the smaller quad headlights.

Cheers,

karl

When you decide to replace the grill with the original then PLEASE let me know. I have a 1979 242GT that needs a spare as mine has mounting problems. The PO broke the plastic mounts..Just Email me if you actually do replace it. The fogs are supposed to only work on low beam by the way. The Lambda Sond emblem is missing, but then again I guess some came without it. Max:>)

My oh my, Karl
First Mr. DeWolfe & now you.
Am I next? I worry sometimes how my wagon will manifest itself.

Actually that looks very nice
the grill is a 242GT grill & a personal favorite.

'77 might have still had the round 7" headlights on the 240 series; but I think they should be quad 5 3/4"

Looks like a keeper!

Cheers,
-Sean
