Alignment after replacing rear trailng arm bushings?

The Volvo green manual does not mention doing so, but after replacing the 2 bushings at the front of the rear trailing arms, should the alignment of the car be checked? Tracking of my 89 740 Turbo wagon down the road does not seema s precise as before I replace the bushings. The old bushings were not bad at all, even with 180K on the car.

Alignment after replacing rear trailng arm bushings?

Did you do this job yourself? There's no adjustment for rear wheel alignment, but certainly it is possible to damage parts and cause tracking problems. Were the bushings in the torque rods and (especially) the panhard changed? Without problems? I've never heard of anyone ever needing to change the front bushings on the rear control arms. Probably takes 30 tons of force too, I'd guess.

If the tracking isn't heightened sensitivity due to the work being done, I'd go over each part of the work and check it out before mucking with the front wheels in some effort to compensate, unless it is possible one of the big rear bushings was so shot, some P.O. had a steering correction made up front to sell the car.

    -K

Would make no sense the rear suspension would effect the front alighnment.
But maybe you should have it done anyway?
