Help! Ball Joint Replacement, 200

I started the ball joints on my 1990 240, first side has come apart, with no problems.

I m reassembling the the new joint.

Question, how do you torque the strut bracket to the new joint. The ball stud spins with a torque wrench on it. I can use an impact wrench to get it eye ball to the threads showing.

How should the brack free. firm on the new ball stud?

You probably already did this, but make sure to clean all the seating surfaces of the tapered stud and its housing with something to remove all traces of grease or oil. The stud won't slip as much that way.

With a hammer lightly tap the edges of the ball joint into the tappered housing and it will hold well enough to torque the bolt. I just did 3 sets like this. Dan

I ran the nut down further with and impact wrench, the bracket seated.

Torques to the low end of spec, then stepped up to 44 ft lb, then left it at 50. Spec is 44 +/- 10.

I havent done this, and didnt have a feel thank.
