Interchangability of Injectors 200

Hi
I have a 1990 240 DL SW The fuel injection is LH 3.1 (82 in 6 and 7 th place in Vin). The injectors are 230150762.I found the correct ones .They were on a car with LH 2.4 I think (88 in 6th and 7 th place in VIn)

I want to know whether are they interchangable with others . I found in JY yellow topped injetors on a 740 GL the numbers were different on those and they did not have the pintel cap at the injector end and the pin at the end which the specified injectors have . Looked like a better design as dirt as dirt can get trapped in case of pintel capped .Moreover removing the pintel cap is a big PITA. I have seen green ones also .

So what is the mystery behind all this stuff

Regards
Gopesh

    Gopesh:

I can confirm that LH2.4 injectors from a 90 have the same numbers as those in a 92 245 with manual trans and LH3.1.

The pintel cap is a big PITA but an important part to optimize the spray pattern, so even if they are missing, replace them. Sometimes they break and get sucked into the cylinder, vaporize and disappear!

Hopefully, someone can clarify this for me, but I thought the first year Volvo used the LH 3.1 was on 92s with M47 manual transmissions. In any case, if you find 92s on the bone yard with a manual trans, there is a good chance you'll find good spare parts for the LH 3.1 system in your car.

Additional note about LH2.4 to LH3.1: Although the throttle bodies look the same, they are NOT, so don't even think about it! Trust me on this one as it took two days and the BB to find the cause of the CEL!

Probably worth checking FCP part numbers. Interesting that LH 3.1 injectors are the same as LH 2.4 ones. I didn't know that. Otherwise, everything seems to be different. Most later 740's will have either LH 2.4 turbo injectors or Regina injectors. Pretty rare to find a non-turbo LH 2.4 740... except in California. Earlier LH fuel injectors are different still.

Part number on LH2.4 740 GL (NA) were different.I took them out and then left that at car's seat for somebody else's use. Its IAC was also different and ofcourse other differences .They looked in better shape and different design and they would have fit in my car as such.

I was wondering if there is something as upgrade of injectors based upon maintainence ,flow and such other factors may be performance even.
I do not know much about them execept that I have removed and installed them .

Yep I have yet to find LH 3.1 car for spares for ICU ,AMM, TB .
