rare SHORT fuse ... In a pinch, try this 444-544

I carry some electrical spares and jigs so that I can by-pass most things.

I carry some one-to-two spade lugs, short wires with females on each end and some modern fuses with spade ends.

To bypass a blown fuse, add a one-to-two to each spade on the fuse block and reinstall the original wires. Then add a short wire ti each wire and insert a properly-sized modern fuse between the new wires. Back in service.

Actually, a small electrical repair kit is a decent idea.

BTW a modern fuse between two wires with female lugs makes a nice fuse without a need for a fuse holder.

Last time I need one of these, the local import auto place (Bosch Dealer) had no problem getting a couple of them for me.... I think that Bosch is making them again... But that auction's price is still less than what I paid for them. I think I paid $1.50 each...

I just keep re-using the porcelain, buying regular long 25amp fuses, carefully remove the strip, bend it so it fits... et voila.

Then I bought a 140 that had a bunch in the glove box for some reason.
