Phil, this didn't happen to us until the "cloud upgrade." At that time, Jarrod removed the limit on reviving dead threads. I asked if he would please flag them in some way, like a blazing red color for the date or something. What a waste of time!

$600 isn't much more than you'd get taking it to the recycler, so getting a running 242 for that sure seems like a fair offer. But as a "sign person" you'd think we need to know first and foremost where you are, putting up a for-sale sign on the world wide web.

It sounds like a four cylinder engine with an overdrive. Most likely a stick for a two door (I hope) and the car is on the west coast, near salt water it appears. 850 area code is the San Luis Obispo area north and south.

San Luis Obispo is 805 area code, not 850. Besides the state of CA will give us $1000 to $1500 for our registered, running vehicles just to get them off the road. So selling an older car for less doesn't make any sense here.

OH! You are right, I got the area code backwards! I lived in 805 about twenty-five years ago. Brain fart!

Yes, it does not make sense to sell old cars or buy the new ones in California with the sales taxes, insurance and yearly DMV based on its value.

California cars get the miles put on them. The rusting takes a lot longer so the higher scrap price, is for the solid stuff!
