444 for sale soon 444-544

I have a 1957 444 project car that i bought to compliment my 1958 project, and now that I have the parts pretty much sorted out I am going to offer the 57 for sale.
So, I will be posting in the classified sect. soon. It is a rolling chasis and is prety much all there excluding the interior.
I like money just as much as the next guy. but my concern here is not money but the cars future.
Not sure how much to ask for the project, I'd rather sell it for $300 to a volvo person than $1000 to some hot rodder
will post for sale soon this vehicle resides in Battle creek michigan DAVE WRight

What's the rust like? I've got a 59 PV and it's missing everything 2 inches up from the bottom :)

Car looks like its had quite a bit of repair work and looks like good quality work to me.
this is a 57 so its a 444 unlike your 59 which is a 544.
Am currently swapping out the front crossmember and suspension, after which I am going to take pics and put up for sale.
Any thought on where would be a good site to sell this car?
HOPING THAT THIS CAR WILL STAY A VOLVO!!

I'm aware that my PV is a 544, I prefer the 444s that have the split windows front and rear, but will settle for one with just the front split windo :)

Well if the shell is solidly repaired and doesn't have any more rust issues that need to be dealt with right now, then I would be more than extremely interested in it. If it needs 100+ hours of welding to put back together, then I've already got projects like that and don't need another :)

I live in Hamilton, Ontario and would keep it a Volvo.

my preference is the 544 62 or newer. I also have a 58 444 ( nevada car ) in VERY! restorable condition, that I would trade for the right one ( 544 ).
As to the 57 I think the best way to determine if this is sommething you might be interested in is for me to take lots of pics.
Please be patient with me on this as I am much better with cars than with cameras and computers.
I know when I am thinking about buying something the First thing I want to know is - how much- Im thinking $500.00 is a fair price.
Im guesssing your about 300 to 350 miles from me.

Dave,

I'm in absolutely no hurry since I am in the middle of underpinning my basement at the moment ;) $500 sounds reasonable to me. Sure pictures would be nice, but if the interior is stripped then I'll accept an your assessment of how solid the floors, rockers, trunk etc is. I've got all the other sheet metal, not that I would turn down more fenders etc, but that's not my prime interest.

Honestly, if it's fairly rusty but in one piece I've already got one of those which I burnt out my mig welder (don't cheap out on those) stitching back together.

Andrew

I am gonna take pics soon , I doubt you will be dissapointed.
This car is totaly apart. I guess you would call it a rolling chassis
I hope to sell it soon as it is taking up space in my garage.
