Center support bearing 120-130 1965

I just picked up a 1965 122s. It runs fine and only cost $500. But after inspecting it I found that the center support bearing is just floating around up there unattached. Is this just a broken weld or do I have more serious problems. I haven't put it up on blocks yet. It's a stick shift.

The center support bearing should be suspended from 2 large rubber grommets located in a bracket welded to the underside of the driveshaft tunnel. There are two mounting pins on the plate that holds the driveshaft center support bearing, about 5/16" diameter, that fit into the grommets.
Make sure the grommets are still there... They may have collapsed or rotted away. They are cheap and readily available; IPD has them.

On mine the welded bracket is broken loose. The floorboards are solid so I am puzzled as to what caused this. The bushings seem ok.

Do you mean that the metal stamping that holds the two rubber grommets is no longer welded to the undercarriage, but is now hanging off the driveshaft and flapping in the breeze, so to speak?... That's interesting, never seen that before; maybe someone else here has.

Is the metal piece that holds the support bearing banged up as well? Are the two mounting pins still intact and straight?

The whole bracket is loose and hanging down, it looks like it was welded to the undercarriage at one time. Other than that the whole thing seems to be in good repair. I am going to trailor the car home this morning and put it up on blocks. I weld so hopefully nothing else is wrong. I haven't been brave enough to get straigth under it where it is parked. There is a piece that looks like a large oil filter wrench in the trunk. This may be part of it? My main car is an automatic but possibly it will be close enough that I can compare.
Thanks
Don
