Scan tech coil springs 200 1992

Hello,

Would anyone care to dissuade me from installing the Scan-Tech coil springs that I bought from FCP Groton when I change out the shocks in my 240 wagon? Is everything by Scan-Tech really as bad as some messages in the archives say? Is it in fact *not* God's truth that everything made of steel in Sweden is bombproof? (And what about Santa Claus--is he real?) My other option is keeping the old springs, which are probably fine, but which I figured I might as well replace since we've been driving the car with dead shocks for months and I have no way of really testing them...

Thanks,

-David

The answer to the ScanTech question is that it depends on the part. Some parts are fine, some are not fine. No experience with front springs.

However, the original springs are probably fine. They do sag over time, but on a '92 that shouldn't be significant. I'd only get new springs unless something is wrong with the current ones, or you're after "performance" or lowered set-up.
