You should repost this to show up in the 200-series section.

Because many folks go straight to the 200 section and won't find your post here unless you tag it "200".
My guesses?
Fuse in white fuse holder on driver's side fender wall, rearward from the coil. Fuse rarely blows but gets dirty + corroded. Fuse holder can get nasty inside also. If you pull the fuse holder, pull the battery ground wire first. Otherwise, BIG POP for certain.
Crank position sensor. Look in the 700-900 FAQ that's available from the dropdown list at top right corner of these pages. CPS was first used in the '89 240's. If original it's nearly guaranteed to be due for replacement. Often ignored due to nearly invisible.
Fuel pump relay. On kick panel below the glove box. Often develops solder joint cracks.
