Changed out the under car and it seems to be operating but still no fuel at the fuel rail line just before the FPR. Going for the intank next, got the under car pump from a 90 744t, I know there were some gas tank volume changes. , is the 90 the same as 91, or does anyone know which year pumps will fit my 91 745t... Did the intank today, both pumps are now cycling along with the relay but no fuel is coming thru. Wasn't really sure which line is the supply and return. Pulled the line going into the FPR and get no fuel, pulled the FPR out of the fuel rail and get no fuel out of the rail, what the frig?!!! Been driving my baby for 3 yrs now, purchased from original owner w/239k, now almost 267k. Relly clean good running car previous to it dying a couple weeks ago, hate to give up on it....... Any other suggestions? Tom 27940aholic

i guess you could check and see if there is fuel coming out of the fuel filter.
hopefully its not original.
at least it will bump up hour post.

i would think even with a bad intank pump you would still get fuel at the rail.
the intank pump isnt that expensive brand new.
go to fcp groton website and do a search for the different years versus the part#s.

Is a new intank pump difficult to install in place of the old one, have never changed the pump itself just the complete unit as it comes out of the tank. Seems like it would be a real PITA swap out a new replacement pump..... Tom

Bosch or Regina system?

Bosch, was the Regina used at all on the turbo? don't really know myself.. Tom

I've read that the reginas were all non turbo.I took a pump assembly of a bosch &fitted it to my regina w/ a new sock&it worked fine.

The assembly INCLUDING the Bosch in-tank pump??? Or are you saying that you just used the Bosch sending unit, but a Regina pump?

I know from direct experience that the pumps are the same on an 88 and a 90, but not an 86, on which the entire in-tank unit is different. Not sure if the late type stayed the same for 91, but I suspect it probably did.

All of this is assuming you have a Bosch system---from what I understand, Rex/Reginas have only one pump, which is in the tank. As you have already changed one under the car, you almost certainly have Bosch.

I'm not sure about the in-tank pump but...

Do you have power at the pumps?

Is the new pump running?

Power is at the under car pump, it cycles when I turn on the ignition.. Tom
