Breaking Pinging Noise 200 1989

New here. Hoping someone could answer this question for me. I replaced my left rear brake (caliper, housing, pads--everything) over the summer. Ever since then there has been a pinging noise coming from what sounds like under the hood. What could this be? Do I need to bleed the system?
Thanks!

Um...look under the hood? Brakes generally don't make noise under the hood. A mechanics stethoscope would be of great help here, as would a better description of the noise and when it occurs.

Since the noise started immediatly after you performed replacement of the brake, it is logical to assume asg1986, that something might have been installed improperly in the rear, it would be wise to remove the wheel and ensure that the dowel pins are properly located.

However, asg1986, you also said that the noise is coming from the front. Take a light and observe the linkage for any abnormalities between the brake booster and the pedals, I've seen the linkage wear in my 1977 264.

Post back with any findings, that's what keeps us going, and stopping!

That is a very interesting question asg1986, However I cannot say what the problem might be. Does the noise occur when you are stopped, or perhaps while you are swerving. Does the noise occur when the brakes are depressed, when the engine is running or even when it is stopped. What do you mean : "Housing"?

It happens while the car is running and when I am coming to a stop. I guess I mean that I replaced the brake (the piston was stuck, so I just replaced the whole thing).
