As mentioned in the title, I replaced the heater core and internal fan. All said and done I have heat and there isnt any mist/fog on my windows anymore but there is a smell that is getting me high (and not in a good way). Is this something that will just burn off? Is this an experience that other have had?

Siemens fan
and four seasons heater core.

    Thx for the suggestions. It isnt antifreeze either. (I know that smell pretty well.) Anyway, I was told by a friend at work that he boiled his heater core once when he had something kind of similar. ugh! I just got my finger stitched back on from the first extraction.

    I had a toxic odor that I traced to inexpensive fuses that I bought from B-A that melted instead of blowing. Smelled like rotting meat. Replaced them with dealer fuses and wah-la, no more toxic odor.

      Thx for the reply but this is definitely coming from the heater box. When I turn the fan on I get blasted by it. Yes, I know that I am activating a fuse when I turn the fan on... but it is coming from the ducting not the fuse box.

        mabey coolant is leaking in the heaterbox going allover the fans??? did u wipe up any access coolant after the heatercore replacement?? check the heater core, happened to me once. smells sweet?? what does is smeel like? or, mabey your coolant is leaking on the hot engine somewhere? my grand prix leaks coolant on the engine and it seeps in the heater vents through the ac when i run it dus drawing the smell inside the car? just a thought
