Undercar pump had been making noise for a couple years also, probably straining from the intank pump going bad. Car runs so much quicker and crisper on acceleration now. She feels like she will go another 267k. God I love my Volvo, posting a pic for all the world to see.. 91 745ti auto 267k white/black leather Tom 27940aholic Sold the 89 745 na for $1400..

    Curious if you replaced the pumps with original Bosch replacements or did you go aftermarket/off brand?

      Pulled them both off of two different turbo 740's in 2 different junkyards. Both cars had about 150k on them, the undercar came off a well maintained 90 sedan and the intank I got from a known running 91 wagon, I had previously heard the wagon running as I had also pulled the computer from the wagon for a car I had sold to a customer of mine. I figured the pumps in mine lasted 267k miles and hopefully the 2 used pumps I installed should have another 100k miles of life left in them......... Tom 27940aholic

    Which pumps are you referring to? My volvo has been making a funny noise which seem to be coming from under the car. can you give some more details?

      Car had died on me and I changed out the under car and intank fuel pumps, guess my in tank must have been on the way out and the undercar pump was making noise. Now the car runs great...... Tom 27940aholic
