240 Tranny Question

Hi,

My 87 240 wagon (240K miles) sat for a few months and leaked out about 1.5 quarts of fluid. I started the car and added the fluid. After it was full, it ran fine.

Could I have damaged my tranny by running it (it was started and in park the whole time that it was low). I do not have any bad symptoms; tranny works fine. I am just wondering what to expect.

Thanx!!!

No problem. Even if you drove it a short distance and it slipped slightly it would be alright. Fix that leak though!

thanx - that was what I thought. I fixed the leak. Luckly, it was the pan seal ($200 for new seal, tranny flush, and filter)!!!

kreg
