generator noise suppression capacitor

Well, I'm almost done with teh engine swap on the ' 68 122 wagon, and once again, I've lost my digram of specific wire locations. The shop manual has helped in all but one instance....the capacitor on the generator, which it does not show. Which terminals and orientation is it connected to?

Thanks!
Ron

ANSWER generator noise suppression capacitor 120-130 1968

The part of the generator mostly responsible for radio interference (mostly AM)
is the commutator. So it should probably go on the output, although the output
and the field are connected together so either one might work, if you in fact
need one. I don't remember seeing a capacitor on a Volvo generator and would
suggest you "go without" unless you find you need one.

You know, the radio does not work, and I have no intention of replacing it, so I think your idea is spot-on!

      Thanks Walrus!

      Considering a used S60 S60

Don't we just love "Big Brother", "Proprietary Equipment" shananigans? GAAA! I sometimes think it would be nice to upgrade to newer models, but then stories like yours...um...I'm glad for our old 240 & 740.
