Do all 940T cars have the 1041 Locking Differential? 900 1994

I found the axle tag and cleaned it off. Apparently the car is equipped with the Eaton Locking Differential. Is this common to all 940 turbo cars?

I think they all got them. I sure like mine with the snow tires. Go anywhere, no worries. Works real nice in the mud out behind the house too.

My '93 945T's owners manual says that the car does have it, and people have said before that all 940T's have it. However, mine either does not have it, or it does not work, as I tried flooring it in the rain while taking a right turn, and the inside wheel just pun away happily.
BTW, this is NOT an LSD - according to the manual it only works under speeds of 25 mph.

From what I have heard they all should have it. I know mine does, before the new super sticky wider tires I found myself kicking the whole rear end out a few times, especially in the rain. Lately on one particular off-camber uphill turn into my neighborhood I've had my inside tire let go while the outside tire keeps tracking.(this would be at about 15-20mph) Although from a dead stop I still get power to both wheels. Before I pronounce my locker dead I am going to do a long overdue gear oil change and hope that gets things working like they should.
I'll be doing this in the next few days, I'll let you know if its the miracle cure I'm hoping for.

Just an update: After changing the rear differential fluid it does seem that my locker is acting like it should. I havent had any occurance of spinning a single wheel, if I lose traction its on both sides now. Good news for me as we have had snow here recently.
Unfortunatly I havent seen any measurable gain in MPG yet, not surprizing since the old fluid looked OK and at the correct level. Wishful thinking I suppose but I was hoping for another mile per gallon. Every little bit helps at these gas prices.

Thanks for the information.

I think it is safe to say that any production specs Volvo 940T would have a hard time spinning wheels at speeds over 25mph (grin)

Hey take that back. I make my 944T wheels spin at 55 mph but it's not on dry pavement but on our icy and snowy roads here in West Michigan.
Back to the LD yes I understand they have them. I have one and just did a gear oil change as my right wheel allways spins on the slippery road. I got stuck on a 5 degree incline residental street, Very embarrasing hence the gear lube service.
It still does not work 100% but it is getting better. Sometimes when slowly starting you can actually hear it klunk in and the care lounges forward.
Maybe useage will loosen it up and it will work the way it should soon
