Normal aux fan behavior? 700 1987

Hi guys,

It's spring here in WNC. The highs are in the 40s-60s, and things are starting to turn greenish again.

Not much going on that would make your engine too hot.

I see my aux cooling fan right behind my 740's grill. I have the GLE model. I never seem to see it running, and before summer, I'd like to see if it works.

Can anyone tell me the normal behavior of this fan? Does it cycle, does it only run at high engine temps? On the Honda I used to drive, the fan would cycle after the car was turned off, I guess to prevent boil-over after the coolant stopped circulating.

Thanks in advance y'all.

Ari

Normal behavior is: It never runs.
The thermo-switch in the radiator turns it on at ~95C; if you short the switch, the fan ***should*** run, but it's probably frozen.
