thermal Switch 200 1983

I'm converting my '83 to an electric fan and have managed to pick up a Volvo NOS switch to control the fan. It consists of a short (4" ?) pipe that splices into the lower radiator hose and a thermal switch that screws into a bung on the pipe. I'm not familiar with the switch and wonder if anyone knows the current capacity of the unit. Usually I use a relay to control the 12V to the fan but if the switch has 20 amp capacity, I can skip that. Thanks

Std 20 Amp Bosch or Hella relay is the norm. Feed the relay with 12v from the supply panel just aft of the relay rail on left fender inside face.

Regardless of the rating of the switch, you should use it to only close the contact on a relay, and use a relay to power up your fan. Your wiring will thank you for it. I just checked my switch for you, and there is only the #8 stamped on it. No rating number. Sorry

Bill
