will 5 bolt 15" steel wheels from a 1987 740 fit a 1989 240? Is the bolt pattern the same.

    They will bolt right on. Offset is different by 5mm, so don't go too big with the tires or they might rub. 185/65s should be OK. You must keep your original lug nuts. 240 and 740 lug nuts have different threads and are NOT interchangeable.
